A self-taught artist he paints in the realist-impressionist style using the traditional medium of oil paints. His favourite subject is landscapes, which he likes doing direct from nature en "plein air", highlighting the famed natural beauty of his island home.
Born in 1938, he retired from active business in 1995 and found time and opportunity for realizing a cherished ambition to paint seriously. He has since had four successful exhibitions in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2001 at the Lionel Wendt Art Gallery in Colombo and now paints fulltime.
